Speculators raise net long position in COMEX gold, silver –CFTC

    NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Hedge funds and money managers raised their netlong positions in COMEX gold and silver contracts in the week to Nov. 7, U.S.Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) data showed on Monday.

    They also cut their net long position in copper futures and options, the data showed.

    Hedge funds and money managers raised their net long position in COMEX goldby 7,027 contracts to 173,562 contracts, according to the CFTC. This was thefirst time speculators raised their net long position in eight weeks, as gold prices jumped more than 1 percent on geopolitical risks.

    The dealers also raised their net long position in silver by 7,675 contracts to 65,461 contracts, CFTC data showed. Speculators cut their net long position in copper by 19,291 contracts to 85,786 contracts, the data showed.
